All attendees are required to book their hotel accommodations through Team Travel Source, the Official Housing Company for VEX. Program participation allows us to secure the highest quality rooms at the best possible group pricing.
Note: Hotel rooms are double occupancy. For example, if a person books one double queen room that equals four people maximum in the room.
➥ Traveling to the VEX Robotics World Championship
The REC Foundation has contracts with the City of Dallas that reduce the cost of the rental of the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center based on how many VEX Robotics World Championship attendees stay at hotels while in the city. Dallas requires RECF to report out on this metric in order to obtain this discount, which helps us keep registration prices low.
Yes. As a part of the VEX Worlds team registration order in RobotEvents you will be required to provide your Team Travel Source (TTS) pipe ID number/s.
A pipe ID number is a unique identifier used by TTS to track and validate reservations. A pipe ID number will be provided to you once booking through TTS is complete.
No. Your spot to VEX Worlds is not guaranteed until your VEX Worlds team registration RobotEvents order has a paid status. All payments must be made in full by March 31, 2025 at 5:00pm CST. Any orders not in a PAID status by this date will be canceled.
Yes. TTS has an extensive block of rooms that are contracted at the best rates on behalf of the RECF at multiple hotels in the area. The REC Foundation REQUIRES that you book through TTS. A complete list of contracted hotels can be found here.
Once you have booked your hotel with TTS, you will be asked to provide the PipeID that you received from TTS as part of your hotel lodging confirmation during the VEX Worlds team registration process.
Booking outside of the TTS hotel blocks is not authorized. You must book lodging through TTS in order to participate in the 2025 VEX Robotics World Championship.
Teams that have an organization address within 50 miles of zip code 75202 will be able to indicate that they are a local team and will not have hotel lodging requirements. No review is required and teams may pay for their registration immediately.
If parents have booked the hotel lodging for the team, the person completing the VEX Worlds team registration will need to collect lodging information from the parents and submit it through Robotevents.com as a part of the VEX Worlds team registration process.
In the confirmation number section of the RE order, add all the pipe ID numbers separated by commas.

If your VEX Worlds registration in RobotEvents has been confirmed/paid in full and you cancel your TTS hotel reservation, your registration order will be locked/canceled until a new TTS pipe ID number is provided. This allows the RECF to ensure that your team is staying within a contracted hotel with TTS per VEX Worlds requirements.
