Traeton Dansby has led the growth of the VEX IQ Robotics program in Bixby Public Schools to become the largest in Oklahoma, with 26 teams across five campuses. A coach, mentor, and community leader, Dansby supports new coaches and Event Partners, hosts events, and volunteers extensively. His commitment to collaboration and student impact make him a model contributor to the VEX community.
Dansby launched a Girl Powered class for middle school girls, which has doubled in size and received local media coverage. Participants have presented at Girl Powered workshops. He also founded the Girls & Gears VEX IQ competition, which features women engineers as speakers.
Dansby established a robotics program at Valliant Elementary and partnered with the American Indian Resource Center to deliver over $50,000 in robotics resources to four rural Indigenous communities.
His students contribute to the broader VEX community by creating and sharing CAD manuals on common robotic mechanisms, now used globally. Through his leadership and outreach, Dansby continues to expand access to STEM education and inspire students and educators alike.
