Welcome to the 2024-25 Season!

CURRENT GAME: VIQRC RAPID RELAY

VEX IQ Robotics Competition Rapid Relay is played on a 6’ x 8’ rectangular field configured as seen above. Two robots compete in the Teamwork Challenge as an alliance in 60 second long teamwork matches, working collaboratively to score points.

Teams also compete in the Robot Skills Challenge where one robot takes the field to score as many points as possible. These matches consist of Driving Skills Matches, which will be entirely driver controlled, and Autonomous Coding Skills Matches, which will be autonomous with limited human interaction.

VEX Robotics World Championship Presenting Sponsor

The REC Foundation is proud to have the Northrop Grumman Foundation as a presenting sponsor of the 2023-2024 VEX Robotics Competition and the VEX Robotics World Championship.

VIQC Virtual Skills

Each year, with the introduction of a new VEX IQ Competition, VEX releases a Virtual Skills version of the game. VEXcode Virtual Skills lets students practice coding and test strategy in a virtual environment. Students gain skills in coding autonomous robots that will help them code their real IQ robot.

Online Challenges

The REC Foundation's Online Challenges program provides a unique opportunity for students from around the world to participate in VEX Robotics Competition, VEX U, and VEX IQ Challenge-based engineering competitions. Students can show off their work, win prizes, and even win a chance to compete at VEX Worlds. The REC Foundation organizes Online Challenges in subjects such as web design, CAD design, photography and video production.

New to Robotics?

By its nature, the study of competitive robotics not only encompasses all four pillars of STEM education, but also encourages important life skills like teamwork, communication, and project-based organization. The Robotics Education & Competition (REC) Foundation exists to bring this exciting experience to students all over the globe through the VEX IQ Challenge, VEX Robotics Competition, and VEX U.

Educational Resources

VEXcode

VEXcode allows students to get started coding quickly and easily. VEXcode is consistent across Blocks, Python, C++ and all VEX Brands. As students progress through elementary, middle, and high school, they never have to re-learn a new coding environment. As a result, students can focus on creating with technology.

STEM Labs

VEX Robotics created STEM Labs as a supplemental educational resource. The purpose was to support educators with free, easy to follow STEM lesson plans that align with educational standards. Each STEM Lab contains hands-on lessons with guided explorations that encourage teamwork and collaboration.

Classroom Competition Activities

Many schools are struggling to implement a robotics program this season and may not have the opportunity to attend an event either remotely or in-person. We've developed a series of self-paced Classroom Competition Activities utilizing VEX Education resources like VEXcode VR and STEM Labs to keep students engaged in robotics and address the workload of mentors/team coaches as they adjust to modified classroom dynamics. These activities fulfill participation requirements for certain grants, and provide teams with a sustainable and accessible way to engage in the 2021-21 competition season.

Educator Certifications

VEX now offers free, online training that helps educators at all different ability levels. Experience fun and engaging lessons while supporting students as they become proficient with the VEX Robotics system. By the end of the VEX Certified Educator program, you will be fully prepared to implement VEX Robotics and become a leader in technology and innovation within your school and community.
