Axel Reitzig serves as Executive Director of Innovation at the St. Vrain Valley School District Innovation Center, where he has helped transform the local robotics landscape. Under his leadership, the district has built one of the largest school-based robotics programs in the country, offering equitable access and hosting up to 30 tournaments per season. Reitzig is known for his collaborative style and has played a key role in expanding STEM opportunities districtwide.
Reitzig filled many roles in the school district, growing robotics in the region from a handful of parent-supported teams to one of the largest programs in the United States. SVVSD teams represent Colorado at the VEX Robotics World Championship every year, and frequently return with impressive accolades‚ including the 2024 High School Excellence Award.
Reitzig has provided tens of thousands of students with engaging, challenging and transformative robotics experiences. As an early pioneer in Colorado robotics, he has grown what began as a few community teams into one of the largest school-based robotics programs in the VEX Robotics Competition.
