David Aston has been intensely involved in robotics for over 7 years at Glenfield College, and has spread this interest amongst other Colleges and schools. Without his keen dedication and excellent mentoring skills it is unlikely that any of New Zealand’s success over the last 7 years would have been as spectacular.
Wisdom: ‘One of my first VEX robotics students told me that, “A robot is never finished.” She is right. If you think you are finished, you will only find others improving and you get left behind. Always give other teams help if you can, this enables their robots to do better. You may have to alliance with them and if their robot performs well so does yours.”
