The Development Manager for the Robotics Education & Competition (REC) Foundation has energy and passion for the mission and vision of the REC Foundation. This position is primarily responsible for developing, tracking, and maintaining relationships with significant ongoing donors and prospects to advance the mission of the REC Foundation.


Responsibilities

  • Create proposal narratives and budgets as needed to complete the donation process
  • Conduct donor research as need for prioritization, segmentation, and customization of outreach strategies
  • Cultivate new donor relationships from outreach strategies
  • Maintain foundation, corporation, and individual donor files
  • Continually update and correct database records
  • Coordinate cultivation, acknowledgment, appreciation, and stewardship program for all individual donors/grants
  • Create and manage recurring grant submission program
  • Support the REC Foundation Executive Team, CEO, and Board of Directors in prioritizing and managing existing and prospective grant opportunities
  • Work with the Volunteer Coordinator to create opportunities for donors and corporate employee engagement
  • Provide regular standing reports and ad hoc reports as needed
  • Assist with the collection of data to evaluate program success
  • Provide continual feedback to help maintain program integrity
  • May assist with additional projects and initiatives as assigned
  • Maintain fundraising reports and database records with accuracy
  • Provide acknowledgement letters and other stewardship activities within a timely manner

Other Responsibilities

  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Uphold organization policies and standards, including but not limited to policies found in the Employee Handbook
  • Ensure and maintain an ethical, trusting, inclusive, and productive work environment

Additional Information

  • Starting Salary Range: $65,000 to $75,000
  • Primary Location: Remote or in office
  • Openings: 2 (1 within the DFW area)
  • Schedule: Typically 40 hours per week Monday - Friday (hours should incorporate the REC Foundation’s Core Hours of 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM in your time zone); Specific schedules will be discussed with your direct manager

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 8+  years of relevant work experience in a professional environment; background in marketing, communications, human services, or other related field is preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of successful experience in a nonprofit environment
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Success in supporting executive staff
  • Professionalism and quality of work 
  • Ability to interface on a professional level with a variety of customers (co-workers, sponsors, customers, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Google Suite and Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent written and verbal skills; English fluency is required
  • Computer competency and ability to learn new programs
  • Skilled in setting priorities to manage varying tasks/projects and time management
  • Maintain security and confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Attendance at the annual VEX Robotics World Championship for the full duration is required; please note that this event is typically 10-12 days, depending on event configuration and your specific duties, as assigned
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically (15% - 20% is expected) to REC Foundation events, to the Greenville, TX office for meetings, and to the annual VEX Robotics World Championship
