How will badging be handled this year?

Here are some answers to frequently asked questions about badging during the 2025 VEX Robotics World Championship:

Will I receive a badge to wear during the event this year?
No badges will be distributed this year. Instead, a yellow wristband must be worn throughout the event.

Do I need to wear my wristband at all times at the 2025 VEX Robotics World Championship?
Yes. Due to tightened security measures, each team member will be required to have a bright yellow VEX Worlds wristband on at all times to access the pits, divisions, skills, and arena.

I am on an International Team traveling from Hawaii or Alaska. Where should I pick up my badge?
ALL teams should pick up their wristbands and swag in the F Lobby at Team Check-in. Teams will still need to check in online via at RobotEvents.com prior to the event in order to confirm attendance.

NOTE: Only the team coach needs to come to Team Check in to pick up wristbands and swag for the team.

How will I receive my wristband?
Wristbands and one (1)parking pass per Team will be picked up at team check in, located in F Lobby. Each team will receive one (1) parking pass for Lot E. No additional parking passes are available through RECF or ACE Parking for Lot E. We suggest if your Team has a motorcoach or oversized vehicle, that the team use the one (1) parking pass to park that vehicle in Lot E

Will signature be required?
Coaches are required to sign for wristbands, parking passes, and team swag at team check in, located in F Lobby.

What is the process for “signing up” for team wristbands?
Teams sign up for their wristbands by using the online check in feature for the 2025 VEX Robotics World Championship on RobotEvents.com.

Should spectators/guests be included on the list, or will they have a separate registration process?
Spectators and guests are treated separately from teams. Spectators should check in at Spectator Check-in  D Lobby when they arrive at the event.

2025-2026 Signature Event Updates

  1. An Event Partner wanting to apply to host a Signature Event must have hosted events for at least 2 seasons prior to applying. 
  2. Signature Events must use the officially branded award banners for the Excellence Award and Tournament/Teamwork Champions Award.
  3. When hanging field skirts the VEX Robotics logo/brand name can not be covered up on the competition fields.
  4. VEX V5 Robotics Competition Signature Events may have regional capacity and max per organization restrictions lifted 8 weeks before the event if the event is not full (similar to the process already in place for VEX IQ Robotics Competition Signature Events).
  5. Minimum pit size reduced to 8’x 8’ instead of 10’x10’.
  6. Beginning in the 2025-2026 season, the REC Foundation will collect $10 instead of $5 per team registration on all Signature Events. This is to help offset travel costs for REC Foundation staff to support these larger events.

2025-2026 Signature Event Application Reminders

  1. Existing Signature Events only need to complete the Final Application (due by March 31, 2025)
  2. New Signature Event concepts will need to complete the Initial Proposal by January 31, 2025 and if approved, complete the Final Application by March 31, 2025.
